Dr. Michael Sadove Bio

Dr. A. Michael Sadove is a board certified Plastic Surgeon with Meridian Plastic Surgeons in Indianapolis. A Chicago native, he graduated from Washington University, St. Louis and went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine degree from Loyola University, Chicago. During his General Surgery Training, Dr. Sadove also completed a comprehensive research project and was awarded a Master of Science degree in Surgery by the University Of Illinois. Upon the completion of his General Surgery Training at the Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, Dr. Sadove began an additional residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Virginia.

 

He received Fellowship status in Craniofacial Surgery and Microsurgery while training with leading cosmetic surgeons at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital at New York University. In 1982, Dr. Sadove joined the faculty of the Plastic Surgery Section at Indiana University School of Medicine. That same year, he received his board certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery. 

 

Dr. Sadove served as Chief of the Plastic Surgery Service at Riley Hospital for Children for 25 years and was named James Harbaugh Endowed Professor of Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine. He served as Chairman of Surgery at IU North Hospital and President of the Medical Staff and was director of the Cleft Program at the St. Vincent's Peyton Manning Children's Hospital Craniofacial program. Dr. Sadove has cared for patients at the Meridian Plastic Surgery Center since it was established in 1990.

 

The author of over 150 articles and numerous book chapters, Dr. Sadove has lectured all over the world on various aspects of plastic surgery. He is a member of the American Society for Aesthetic (Cosmetic) Plastic Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a past President of the Indiana Chapter. He is a specialty Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has served as the National Chairman of the Pediatric Plastic Surgery section. Dr. Sadove is a Past President of the American Cleft Palate Association as well as Past-President of the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons and President of the American Society for Craniofacial Surgery. 

 

As a Chair of the Trustee of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Sadove has served as Section Program Chairman for National Meetings. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation and the American Association of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Sadove is a senior examiner, a Director (2003-2009) and former Chairman of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. A member of the American and Indiana State Medical Associations, he has been Past-President of Indiana's Seventh District Medical Society and is currently a Trustee and Delegate to the State Convention. 

 

Honors and Awards

Dr. Sadove's exceptional training, his many years of clinical experience and his special relationships with his patients have fostered many tributes and awards. Dr. Sadove is a Recipient of the AMRs Physician Recognition Award, Sertoma Club’s "Service to Mankind" Award, Clarian Hospitals Award for Excellence in Clinical Care, the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons Distinguished Service Award, named repeatedly by his peers to the ''Top Doctors" list in Indianapolis Monthly Magazine, Best Doctors in America, as well as voted ''Best Plastic Surgeon'' by NUVO magazine.
